Fire Pattern Analysis

This presentation will cover the foundation of the fire investigator as an expert witness and the recognition, analysis, and categorization/description of observed fire patterns.

Complex Fire Investigations

The presentation will cover topics such as public vs private sector investigations and the relationships between them. It will also discuss matters such as subrogation, arson/fraud, and liability issues, including death/fatality investigations.

Jason Mardirosian is a Lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department and a Fire and Explosion Investigator with FEC LLC. Jason Mardirosian has 27 years of experience in the public sector, over 20 in the private sector, and over 18 years teaching. He brings a vast and unique amount of experience to the field of Fire & Arson education and training.  Jason Spent 17 years in the Chicago Fire Department's Office of Fire Investigations and was the primary Field Training Marshal.  Additionally, Jason has over 20 years of experience as a private fire investigator and consultant. Mr. Mardirosian also has testified as an expert over 70 times in state and Federal court, as well in many criminal and civil matters. Covering an array of topics, he has taught classes both nationally (New York, Texas, Indiana, Iowa, Colorado, Wisconsin, Alaska, Maine, U.S. Virgin Islands) and internationally (Jamaica, United Arab Emirates, Algiers) for the IAAI and the Dept. of Justice and State Department.  Mr. Mardirosian was the recipient of the 2006 IAAI Investigator of the Year Award.
