In May of 2007, Attorney Stein received an award from the City of New York, Department of Investigation, for his participation in an investigation and subsequent successful prosecution of a New York City DEP employee charged with arson, conspiracy, and insurance fraud in Connecticut. Attorney Stein served as Vice-Chairman for the City of Milford Board of Fire Commissioners from 2007 to 2024. Amongst the many awards and recognitions that Attorney Stein has received during his career, he is most proud of receiving the Arnold Markle Distinguished Service Award in November 2017 from the Connecticut Chapter of the IAAI for his lifetime contributions to fire investigators, arson investigations and prosecutions.

Attorney Chris Konzelmann
Chairman of the Subrogation Department at White and Williams LLP

  • Chairman of the Property Subrogation Department at White and Williams LLP, where he oversees a national practice dedicated to the investigation and litigation of major fire losses. He manages a team of more than 20 attorneys handling complex origin‑and‑cause matters and has personally investigated and litigated fire losses for over 36 years on behalf of insurance clients. Chris serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals and is an active member of the International Association of Arson Investigators  where he co‑chairs the Insurance Industry Outreach Committee. He is a frequent presenter at national and regional conferences on fire‑litigation‑related topics, including programs focused on NFPA 921 compliance and helping fire investigators provide credible, confident, and defensible deposition and trial testimony. In addition to his legal practice, Chris has been an active firefighter for more than 20 years and was recently promoted to Battalion Chief with the Moorestown Fire Department in Burlington County, New Jersey. His combined experience as a fire officer and litigator provides a unique perspective on how investigative decisions made at the scene directly affect an investigator’s credibility, presence, and effectiveness on the witness stand.
